I am Yvonne Robinson-Jackson, Founder and CEO of Goal Inspired Career Coaching Inc.
I was recently awarded the title of Ottawa's Best Career Coach.
My career journey has been anything but ordinary. From working as a Librarian to a Teacher, Sales Representative, University Professor, Senior Director of Professional Staffing, and finally, a successful Executive Career Coach, I've experienced the importance of carving out my career path.
I faced numerous challenges, including job changes, pivots, and even layoffs, but these obstacles only fueled my determination. I never let them stop me from pursuing my goals, and I accomplished my dreams while working full-time and completing two major degrees, and even changing careers at 50.
Despite being an immigrant woman, I advanced from the help desk to the executive desk and eventually retired from corporate at 65 with a memorable all-day party in my honor.
The most valuable lesson I've learned is that everyone's career journey is unique and not a ladder but a staircase. You have the power to build it the way you want.
